THE INPP DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENING TEST AND SCHOOL INTERVENTION PROGRAMME - This one day training course is available on the 24th October 2012 at The Movement and Learning Centre.
This programme is designed to develop coordination and balance, integrate the sensory systems and to stimulate the neurological links between movement and cognition. It can be used as a progressive intervention with individuals with motor or sensory deficits. It can also be used in settings such as physical education programmes in school to facilitate improvement in movement capabilities to enhance academic learning. A further use is in the fine tuning of athletes in any sport to ensure automised integrative abilities which support performance.
This programme is designed for use in nursery and primary schools to screen for and remediate delayed neuromotor development which is known to be a foundation for learning. A series of developmental exercises are done as part of a daily programme of physical education over the course of a school year. This training programme will be of interest to primary teachers, physical education teachers, support for learning teachers and classroom assistants.
The Movement and Learning Centre can also provide staff training courses on request. The above two training courses and other training tailored to the specific needs of individuals, groups and organisations can be delivered at The Movement and Learning Centre or other venues and on dates throughout the year.
